It’s time to start planning for the future. After many weeks of coping with the day-to-day affects of the pandemic, we knew that we needed to start looking ahead and build our little business at Union Wharf back up.

Cue the Boris Bounce Back loan, and an investment in a lovely new narrowboat shell, all shiny and waiting patiently for a boutique fitout.

This time round, we knew we wanted to fit out a new shell rather than restore an older boat but in all honesty it was difficult to find one to match our own design ethos.

So even though Woodland Grayling caught our eye because of her lovely exterior paint job and generous cruiser stern (back deck), we have still embarked on a complete repaint inside, to cleanse her of the standard usual “caravan” feel.

Moreover, we are changing the radiators, moving the plumbing and electrics to suit our style, replaced and clad the bulkheads (walls) and beginning work on the kingsize bed. Next comes the bathroom fitout.

There is still much to do but we hope that Woodland Grayling will be bookable before the end of the year. We aren’t taking advance bookings just yet, but by all means keep in touch by signing up to our newsletter if you haven’t already – our newsletter subscribers will be the first to know when the calendars are up and running.
