Coronavirus update –  6 June 2020

Although we don’t have any official news on when we can reopen for holidays, we are taking bookings from the 4th July onwards.

But please don’t pay anything if you book a Boutique Narrowboat.

If you wish to book a holiday within the next eight weeks, please reserve through the booking calendar as normal, but don’t pay at the end (the final screen.)

Once we are confident that we can operate again, we will contact you to arrange for payment in full.

Social distancing

Things have changed a little bit at Union Wharf, but we need to do as much as possible to keep everyone safe.

During the booking process, we will ask you how much experience you have so that we can plan ahead for how we handover your boat. Regardless of your experience, you will be asked to read the relevant boat manual in advance, and in some instances there will also be an online training course.

We have loved to meet you all personally in the past – and we will do so again one day! – but for now, we will only train one Designated Skipper and at a distance of 2 metres. All other crew members will need to wait inside the boat until the skipper is happy at the controls.

Please do let us know if you have any concerns about the handover by calling the marina office on 01858 432123 and we will chat through the alternatives.

The Canal and River Trust has produced some general guidelines for hirers booking a boat at this time which you can see here.

We hope to welcome you soon!

Best wishes
Sharon and Aaran
